Torrevieja/Aguas Nueves
south of the Valencian Community on the Costa Blanca, is surrounded by two large natural saltwater lagoons, which form the well-known “Salterns of Torrevieja”.
Just 30 minutes drive south of Alicante airport, and 35 minutes from Murcia it is situated on the coastline of the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean where the beaches carry the European Blue Flag ensuring pollution free bathing.
There are many local attractions; golf courses within 20 minutes drive of the town centre, evening fun fair and night street market, aqua park, casino, ten pin bowling alley, shopping centre, boat trips from the marina. One of the largest open-air markets is held every Friday. There is a harbour walkway which takes you out to sea and provides a great view of the Torrevieja coastline.
For those requiring a more relaxing stay there are many bars, restaurants and seating areas where you can just sit and watch the sea gently roll in or people watch, and just let the days slip by.
The town square is very picturesque. At Christmas it hosts a magnificent Nativity scene, which covers a large proportion of the square.
